Caution
GUMMETAL wire can easily be deformed by outside forces and it fractures if it is scored or nicked on its surface.
Avoid bending with serrated pliers!
Because of its highly elastic characteristic, GUMMETAL wire cannot be formed by a conventional arch wire turret.
When making an arch shape from straight wire, you need to use exclusively designed GUMMETAL Arch Wire Turret or contouring pliers to make and/or adjust the arch form.
GUMMETAL wire must NOT be heat-treated.
Since GUMMETAL is a titanium alloy, it will oxidize if heat-treated.
Exposing GUMMETAL to high temperature results in loss of its marble-like structure.
GUMMETAL is NOT a shape memory alloy.
It will permanently deform if the wire is bent beyond its elastic limit.
